The role: 

Foxhills is a family-owned, 4 star hotel and leisure membership club set in Ottershaw, Surrey.  In addition to 70 spacious hotel bedrooms and fantastic spaces for weddings and events, the club offers a wide range of leisure activities. 
 
Two 18-hole golf courses, a par-3 nine-hole, three restaurants, an award-winning spa and gym and nine tennis courts are offered. ‘The Pavilion’, a new £7m leisure facility with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, four activity spaces offering everything from art to Zumba classes, a deli-style restaurant and crèche make up our fantastic resort.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Greet and speak to members, guests and colleagues in a friendly, welcoming and genuine way, creating a welcoming environment at all times.
  • Take and process food and beverage orders from guests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of menu items, specials and beverages in order you may provide an informed service to guests.
  • Ensure you and the team consistently deliver a high standard of guest service.
  • Take full responsibility and be accountable for service when in charge of the shift.
  • Take every opportunity to upsell without being forceful or obtrusive.
  • Be the first point of support or escalation for queries and issues from guests and colleagues.
  • Inform and liaise with the duty manager where required.
  • Ensure front of house areas are clean, tidy and prepared for service.
  • Ensure back of house areas are clean, tidy and adhere to health & safety requirements.
  • Assist with mise en place through delegation of tasks, ensuring these are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Carry out opening and closing procedures in line with standard operating procedures; includes cash and security responsibilities.
  • Ensure departmental checklists are filled out and signed off as required, delegating duties and checking completion as appropriate.
  • Ensure that all items are processed through the POS system and charged correctly and all function sheet billing instructions are followed to the letter.
  • Reduce wastage and ensure that any stock wastage is recorded as per the standard operation procedure.
  • Carry out line cleaning ensuring cellar management procedures are followed
  • Ensure stock rotation is maintained during bar restocks
  • Ensure that dry store and requisitions are completed correctly and according to relevant par stock levels
  • Maintain a close and professional relationship with the kitchen team at all times, communicating all relevant information on a daily basis.
  • Support the training and induction of new team members.
  • Encourage good team morale and assist with leading and motivating the team.
  • Notify the HoD of any maintenance issues or shortage of tools and resources
  • Assist with department administration as requested by the Head of Department i.e restaurant reservations, rotas etc
  • Be aware of other services offered at Foxhills and able to discuss these with guests
  • Ensure you and the team meet or exceed standards of personal presentation as detailed in the staff handbook.
  • In the absence of the Manager/Assistant Manager attend the 10@10 and F&B  operational meetings
  • Ensure any functions in the department run smoothly and any last minute changes are communicated to the relevant parties
  • Maintain both personal and company confidentiality especially in relation to colleague’s personal information, employment and business situations.
  • Take a keen and genuine interest in the current business, and bring in new ideas to increase profitability, decrease costs, maximise guest satisfaction, and keep up with competitors.
  • To ensure that any policies and procedures or standard operating procedures are adhered to at all times.

 
General

  • Communicate with internal and external customers in a friendly and courteous manner at all times.
  • To maintain a professional standard of dress and appearance, in line with company standards
  • Maintain a safe, clean and tidy work area
  • To adhere to all statutory requirements regarding fire, health, safety and hygiene.
  • To attend any training sessions as requested and adhere to company policies.
  • Support colleagues in delivering a high standard of customer service
